FULL STORY: People like to say that everything is too divisive these days . . . but one thing has ALWAYS been divisive: April Fools’ Day pranks.
In a new poll, 46% of people say they find April Fools’ Day pranks “amusing,” while 40% find them “annoying.” For the other 14%, it’s a case-by-case thing. So it’s got to be GOOD . . . not stupid.
54% of people say they have played an April Fools’ Day prank on someone . . . and 65% of people say someone has played a prank on THEM.
If you’re considering a prank, the demographic most likely to find it amusing is: Young men . . . living in the Northeast or out West . . . who lean politically left OR right. (In other words, they’re NOT middle of the road.)
The people who are LEAST likely to appreciate your April Fools’ Day prank are: Boomer women in the Midwest, who consider themselves politically independent.
The most common reaction to a prank is to smile and say, “That was a good one.” But watch out, three in 10 people will respond by pranking YOU back.
