HIGHLIGHTS:  An annual Christmas spirit study found West Virginia is the most festive state in America again.  New York is the grinchiest.

FULL STORY:  Are you a Christmas super-fan?  Then the place to be right now is . . . WEST VIRGINIA.  An annual study found it’s the most festive state in the U.S.

They ranked the Christmas spirit of all 50 states by looking at Google searches for things like “Christmas decorations,” “Christmas songs,” and “wrapping paper.”

West Virginia is the most festive state in America for the second year in a row.  It ranked first in searches for songs, decorations, wrapping paper, ornaments, and terms like “Santa Claus,” “Christmas Eve,” and “Rudolph.”

Idaho has the second-most Christmas spirit, followed by Utah, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kansas, Kentucky, and Montana.

The GRINCHIEST states are New York, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, and Nevada.

They also looked at the Christmas terms we’ve been googling the most, and there’s a new #1.  We’re searching for “ugly Christmas sweaters” more than anything else.

The rest of the Top 5 are “Christmas Eve,” “Advent calendar,” “Christmas music,” and “Christmas movies.”
