46 years ago – In 1977, at Super Bowl 11, the Oakland Raiders, led by quarterback Ken Stabler and the very white wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff, defeated the Minnesota Vikings 32-to-14.

It was the Vikings’ fourth Super Bowl loss, in their fourth and, to this day, LAST, Super Bowl appearance.

(The Buffalo Bills would tie this embarrassing record of four Super Bowl losses and no wins by getting crushed by the Dallas Cowboys, 30 to 13, in Super Bowl 28 back in 1994.)

The Broncos and the Patriots hold the record for the most total Super Bowl losses, at five.  The Broncos have also won three and the Pats have six wins.

43 years ago – In 1980, Saudi Arabia beheaded at least 60 people for their involvement in the November 1979 raid on the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

39 years ago – In 1984, Van Halen released their sixth album, “1984”, which featured JumpPanamaI’ll Wait, and Hot for Teacher.

23 years ago – In 2000, “Malcolm in the Middle” premiered on Fox.

22 years ago – In 2001, “Save the Last Dance” premiered . . . starring Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas in a taboo interracial love story.

21 years ago – In 2002, Yasmine Bleeth got two years’ probation for a coke bust.  In her car, police had found syringes with liquid cocaine in them, plus a baggie with some powdered blow . . . and there was even MORE Bolivian Marching Powder in her hotel room.  (Here’s her GORGEOUS mugshot here.)

18 years ago – In 2005, Motley Crue singer Vince Neil married his girlfriend, Lia Gerardini, in Vegas.  The wedding was officiated by Vince’s former “Surreal Life” housemate (MCMF) Hammer.  Shockingly, this union did not last.

16 years ago – In 2007, Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone.  In its first 10 years, Apple sold more than 1.2 BILLION iPhones worldwide from 2007 to 2017.

One year ago – In 2022, Bob Saget was found dead in his Florida hotel room in the middle of a standup tour at 65.  He’d fallen, hit his head, and died of his injuries.
